Is there anything as cute as a junior echidna in spite of its spines? Seen this week in Pambula Beach, 2 young echidnas out searching for lunch. It is common knowledge that they seek out termites and ants with their sensitive long proboscis but not so well known is that they also eat earthworms, beetles and moth larvae. These echidnas were seen on the Sapphire Nature Tour Shore Excursion by some very excited visitors from the USA. Also spotted were 4 goannas (or monitor lizards).
